Biography

Stacy Glen Jones (born December 19, 1970) is an American musician, songwriter, and producer. He is currently the musical director and drummer for Miley Cyrus and Life of Dillon, the drummer of Matchbox Twenty and Everclear, and is also known for being the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and primary songwriter of American Hi-Fi.

Background

Jones was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His band's self-titled debut album, released in 2001, included the hit "Flavor of the Weak". Previously, he was the drummer in bands Letters to Cleo and Veruca Salt. He is also half of the production duo Deathstar Productions with writer/producer Bill Lefler, and was a VP of A&R at Epic Records.

In 2004, Jones rehearsed and recorded demos with Mötley Crüe, who were reuniting. Vince Neil was not going to rejoin the band and Jones was initially strongly considered for the position, however, Neil ultimately reunited with the band.

In addition, Jones is the musical director for Miley Cyrus and plays drums for her touring band, alongside Mike Schmid, Jaco Caraco, Vashon, Jamie Arentzen, Sara Mann, and Carmel Helen. American Hi-Fi bassist Drew Parsons previously performed with her touring band, as well.

As of 2012, he is the touring drummer of Matchbox Twenty.

On May 25, 2015, it was announced that he would be the touring drummer of Everclear, replacing Sean Winchester, during their Summerland tour. This tour also features his band American Hi-Fi, Toadies, and Fuel.
