Biography
Ken Vining (born December 5, 1974 in Decatur, Georgia) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. Vining played for the Chicago White Sox in 2001. In 8 career games, he had a 0-0 record with a 17.55 ERA. He batted and threw left-handed.
Vining was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 4th round of the 1996 Major League Baseball draft. During the 1997 season, Vining was one of six prospects (along with Keith Foulke, Bob Howry, Lorenzo Barceló, Mike Caruso, and Brian Manning) traded to the White Sox in exchange for Wilson Alvarez, Danny Darwin, and Roberto Hernández in what became known as the White Flag Trade.
