Biography
James "Jim" Farmer (born August 14, 1965) is an American former long-distance runner. His greatest achievement was a bronze medal in the 5000-meter run for the United States at the 1992 IAAF World Cup. He held a personal best of 13:32.61 minutes.
Farmer was twice at the national junior championships (1983, 1984). He attended college in North Carolina. His best national finish came at the 1988 USA Cross Country Championships where as a relative unknown he pushed Pat Porter - who had had five consecutive victories - in the latter stages of race and ultimately ended as the national runner-up.
