Gavin James Creel (born April 18, 1976) is an American actor, singer and songwriter. Creel is best known for his work in musical theatre, for which he has received two Tony Award nominations—for originating the role of Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie and for his performance as Claude in Hair—and an Laurence Olivier Award for originating the West End version of Elder Price in The Book of Mormon at Prince of Wales Theatre. He also played the role of Elder Price in US National Tour and on Broadway at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre. He plays Steven Kodaly in Roundabout Theatre Company's production of She Loves Me, which premiered in spring 2016.
Personal life
Born in Findlay, Ohio, Creel received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance in 1998. Creel, who is openly gay, is a regular on the LGBT RFamilyVacations cruise with Rosie O'Donnell. He is also one of the founders, with Rory O'Malley and Jenny Kanelos, of Broadway Impact, an LGBT activist group. He is an alumnus of Findlay First Edition Show Choir.

Discography
Creel was featured on the concept album of Bright Lights, Big City. He released his debut solo album, Goodtimenation, in March 2006. He released his second album, a six song EP titled Quiet. Gavin entered Billboard's Heatseeking Albums chart at No. 44 with Quiet. Creel's third solo release, Get Out, was released on March 20, 2012.
