Biography
Donald Frederic Shy (born November 15, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a former professional American football player who played running back for seven seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New Orleans Saints, the Chicago Bears, and the St. Louis Cardinals . At the 1965 AAU National Decathlon Championships, Shy finished third behind Olympians Bill Toomey, and Russ Hodge. Shy was also a World-Class 110 meter hurdler. Shy finished second behind Willie Davenport in the 110 meter hurdles at the 1966 AAU championships, his time of 13.64 was the second fastest time in the world that year.
